Brazil are currently leading the game into the half an hour mark against Argentina. The Selecao got their much-deserved goal through the forward Gabriel Jesus in the 19th minute.

The hosts started on a high tempo as they pressed higher up the pitch to win plenty of duels. On the other hand, Argentina, who have been significantly better with Lautaro Martinez, were dependent on the counter-attack methodology.

The whites and blues nearly succeeded in the opening minutes of the game when the midfielder Leandro Parades hit a piledriver from outside the penalty box. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker saw the ball go over the crossbar agonisingly close, keeping the scoreline intact.

Brazil kept on pushing for the goal, which mattered the most. Dani Alves was higher up the pitch and won a duel. When the full-back won the aerial duel, dragged three players and produced a defence-splitting delivery to Roberto Firmino in the wings. The Liverpool forward had a job to pick out Gabriel Jesus in the six-yard box. It was not an easy ball as Liverpool’s forward split the defence to find Brazil’s number 9 in the box.

Taking full advantage of the situation, Jesus tucked the ball in from close range to beat the goalkeeper Franco Armani, who could not prevent the goal. It was a well-worked goal.
