Manchester United to fend off Chelsea

Manchester United are turning it on this transfer window. Jose Mourinho is in his second season and his ‘second-season wonders’ are well documented. Jose Mourinho has been shrewd this transfer window, getting in players for all the dubious positions and creating a very balanced Manchester United outfit.

But Jose isn’t finished yet, as he is still looking to solve that last bit of the puzzle to make United great again.

While news about Gareth Bale to Manchester United has started to surface again, it looks like Jose is actually looking towards Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona.

Barcelona might lose another player to the ‘release clause’ syndrome, as Manchester United are all set to trigger the modest €40 million release clause of Sergi Roberto. (According to 101GreatGoals.com).

Roberto can play multiple positions but was predominantly employed in the role of a right back last season by Luis Enrique.

Chelsea too are bidding to secure the services of the Barcelona midfielder but reports suggest that Roberto is keen on working with Jose Mourinho, as he is very intrigued with Manchester United’s project.

He can be deployed in the role of a central midfielder, right-back and a winger; and thus could solve all of Manchester United’s problems.

Mourinho had said that United were looking for four new recruits to make the team solid, and with three of them in the bag, a move for Roberto might mean end the of transfer business for Manchester United.
