solskjaer injury update

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provided an injury update on Manchester United’s players as the side prepares for the league clash against Wolves.

Manchester United returned to Premier League action with a 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were on the scoresheet as the Reds maintained pressure on Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea for the top-4 race.

The side received a further boost after Tottenham conceded a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool last night, with Toby Alderweireld scoring an own goal in the final minute of the game.

However, United were hit by a setback during the game against Watford, as Anthony Martial limped out of the pitch in the second half, soon after doubling the side’s lead. Solskjaer has now provided an update on the injury list for the side.

Manchester United injury concerns:

Solskjaer addressed the media ahead of the crucial away game against Wolves on Tuesday night.

Last month, Wolves pulled a stunning 2-0 upset over Manchester United in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, and Solskjaer’s men would be hungry to avenge the loss.

The Norwegian manager, who was given the permanent contract at the club only last week, also acknowledged the Wolves threat, stating that the players need to be at their best for the game.

“If we turn up against a good team like [Wolves] and are not performing at our level, we’ll get the result we deserve,” Ole said.

“Last time we didn’t play well enough. We had 70 per cent of the ball but that doesn’t mean you’re going to create chances and score goals.”

Solskjaer also provided an injury update, and stated that Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku could feature in the game at Molineux Stadium.

However, Alexis Sanchez, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian will continue to miss out.
