Shkodran Mustafi, the man responsible for David Luiz being sent off and Chelsea subsequentially scoring, began Arsenal’s charge after clearing a corner with his head. The ball found Martinelli and never left him as he made his way towards the other end.

N’Golo Kante was Chelsea’s last line of defence and it seemed that he would bring a halt to the teenager’s run. Instead, the French slipped, allowing Martinelli to run past him and eventually score the equaliser. In the process, he became the first teenager to score 10+ goals across all competitions for Arsenal in a single season since Nicolas Anelka in 1998/99.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, scored in the 84th minute to hand his side the advantage once again. However, his opposite number, Hector Bellerin, scored 3 minutes later to ensure that Arsenal left the bridge with a point to their name.
