Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty adds a new storyline to the RPG, which has multiple endings. Each of these endings can be triggered via specific choices made by the players throughout their playthrough.
There are a total of four endings in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and the story splits after a certain point. Thus, serving players with different endings with each of the storylines they wish to take.
Some players might be willing to go through each endings the DLC has to offer, and might need guidance with that. Thus, to assist those players we have put together a detailed guide on how to reach their desired ending.
How to trigger each ending in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty
First off, players need to kick off the Phantom Liberty DLC in Cyberpunk 2077 by receiving a call from Songbird. This call arrives after completing mission 17 of the main campaign, named Transmission. However, if you have finished the final mission of the main campaign, Point of No Return, you will not receive this quest.
Thus, you might have to start over with a new save or load a save life before the last mission of the base game campaign. In case, you have lost the save file, Phantom Liberty owners will get a unique option when starting a new game. When starting a new game just select Skip to Phantom Liberty, which will start a new game with a loaded invertory.
Ending 1: Help Songbird escape and treat her
In this ending, V helps Songbird escape to the moon by flying off to a lunar facility. There Songbird gets taken into treatment by a Rupperdoc who cures her from the Blackwall effects. However, in doing so, you end up killing Reed in the process and only saving Songbird. Here’s how you trigger this ending:
- Start the mission named Firestarter and pick up Songbird at the end of the quest.
- After doing that, you will start a mission named The Killing Moon. At the end of this mission, chose the option of not surrendering Songbird to Reed at the Spaceport.
- When Reed insists on putting Songbird down and starts counting down three seconds, kill him. If you don’t kill him, the game will show you a game over screen as there is no other way to save him.
Ending 2: Surrender Songbird to Reed at Spaceport
No lives are sacrificed with this ending, however, V ends up betraying Songbird. While V promises to help Songbird escape, he sells her out to Reed. Thus when reaching the Spaceport, Reed is already present at the location and asks to hand over her.
However, on the bright side, Reed helps V to find a cure for the relic which has been sickening him from the start of the main game. This is an alternate ending to the main story of Cyberpunk 2077 and gives V a proper conclusion in Phantom Liberty. Here’s the process of how you can get this ending:
- Start the mission Firestarter and pick up Songbird to help her escape at the end of the quest.
- While traveling to the Spaceport, call Reed to give away Songbird. After reaching the location, you’ll find Reed already waiting for you and surrender Songbird to the FIA.
- Reed will insist you put down Songbird and comply with his request. After that wait for Reed to make a call and continue the story to reach the ending.
Ending 3: Mercy kill Songbird
V and Reed are tasked to capture Songbird with this ending. However, things do not go as planned and V ends up killing Songbird at the Militech Cynosure facility. Furthermore, V also doesn’t receive any treatment for the relic and doesn’t trigger an alternative ending. Additionally, in this mission V loses both Alex and Songbird, leaving Reed to stay alive. This is how you can get this ending:
- Start the Firestarter mission and help Reed capture Songbird instead of saving her at the Militechh Cynosure facility.
- After ending the facility enter the AI Core and use it to locate Songbird.
- While the action goes down, Songbird will ask V to take her life during the Somewhat Damaged mission. In that mission, pull the plug holding Songbird and mercy kill her.
Ending 4: Spare Songbird which leads to an alternate ending to Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty
While in the Militech Cynosure facility, V has the option to either kill Songbird or spare her. Instead of killing her, spare her life at the facility. After that Reed will help V out to get a cure to the relic, which leads to an alternate base game ending. The only downside of this ending is, that Alex dies, while Reed and Songbird continue to live. This is how you can get this ending in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty:
- In the Firestarter mission, help Reed capture Songbird and locate her using the AI Core.
- When Songbird requests you to kill her during the Somewhat Damaged mission, deny the offer and spare her.
- Reed will enter the core and help drive both V and Songbird out of the border. After that V will get a call from Reed and help him get treated.
When doing this players will get an alternate cutscene where V wakes two years later in the year 2079. Due to his long stay in Coma, all of his friends move on from him.
Judy moves to Pittsburgh and ends up marrying a person. On the other hand, Panam gets heartbroken due to V’s disappearance and refuses to talk to him. River turns into a corrupted cop to earn money and live in Night City.
Kerry leaves with his band on a European tour and enjoys his life away from NC. Lastly, Victor still lives in Night City at his clinic like always. Either way, the alternate ending is still sad enough for V, but on the brighter side gets cured of the relic.
