Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 4 has been well received by the community in the months after its launch. While not completely faithful or a 1-1 remake, the game’s additions and changes were praised for adding to the experience. Since its launch, speedrunners have found multiple ways of breaking the game including walking through walls. This is set to change with the latest update that patches out speedrunning strategies.
Resident Evil 4 Update 1.05 removes infinite ammo and door clipping

Knowing full well it we never intended and would definitely patched out but still feeling like a victim

- An issue causing players to warp through walls when using the scope in certain areas has been fixed.
[PS5 / PS4]
- Incorrect text displaying for certain trophy explanations in some languages has been fixed.
(Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish)
[XSX|S]
- An issue preventing the game from launching when downloadable content has been installed and an account with content restrictions is logged in has been fixed.

- Changes to the graphics rendering process made on April 7 have been readjusted.
[PS5 / PS4 / XSX|S / Steam]
- Other miscellaneous bug fixes.
While the patch notes don’t detail the fixes, many users on Twitter and Steam forums are confirming that multiple speedrun glitches have been removed. The most prominent is the “scope-warp” glitch that allowed players to noclip through walls. This update will completely shake up the speedrun categories for the game and the strats implemented.
Earlier this week, Resident Evil 2 and 3 received a minor update that re-enabled ray tracing on the platform. Prior to that RE4 also received the free ‘Mercenaries Mode’ update in early April. Capcom hasn’t commented on the removal of the popular speedrunning glitches.
