The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Ren-Iz Shrine

Like every Legend of Zelda title released ever, the latest addition Tears of the Kingdom also features many locations for Link to explore throughout the Hyrule Kingdom. One such place to explore in Tears of the Kingdom is the Ren-Iz Shrine. So, here we will find everything related to this in-game location.

Shrines are mini-dungeon-like areas in Tears of the Kingdom that are known for being the only place to get Light of Blessing, an important in-game item that allows Link to improve his Heart Container or Stamina Wheel. But that’s not all, the shrines also feature tasks that help the protagonist perfect his new Ultrahand power.

Like every other shrine in the game, Ren-Iz Shrine is also an important location for Link to visit. Aside from the health and stamina upgrade, the Zelda protagonist will also get a defensive enhancement, visiting all shrines unlocks the Ancient Hero’s Aspect armor that will give a +12 defense boost.

The silent protagonist will come across 152 shrines across the sky and surface of the Hyrule Kingdom. It may be quite challenging to locate all of them, but the path to the Ren-Iz Shrine might be one of the simplest in Tears of the Kingdom.

This shrine is located in the Crenel Hills of Hyrule Field. Link would have to travel to the east of Hyrule Castle, where they would find the shrine concealed within the decaying stump of a large tree. The exact coordinates for the Ren-Iz Shrine are 0756, 0823, and 0082.

How to complete this Tears of the Kingdom shrine challenge?

Like most shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, Ren-Iz Shrine features a shrine challenge called “Jump the Gaps” that put Link’s abilities to the test. The fans must complete this challenge to clear the shrine.

These are the steps to completing the shrine challenge:

  • In the first area, Link will spot a metal plate and a basket-like structure. He needs to use the Ultrahand ability to lift the metal slate and keep it against the half wall there. Keeping the slate against the half wall would create an inclined slope going into the basket-like structure across the gap.

  • After creating the ramp with the metal plate, the Zelda protagonist must activate the nearby switch by hitting it with a weapon. A huge ball would roll down into the room. Then that ball would then roll over the ramp that Link created earlier and drop into the basket-like structure across the gap. Then Link can enter the next room.

  • Link will then see two metal states in the next room, one of them is rectangular-shaped and the other is square-shaped. He should use his Ultrahand to grab both slates and connect them to create a ramp similar to the one that he made in the previous room. Further,  arrange the ramp in a manner that points toward the basket-like structure in this chamber.

  • After positioning the ramp, the Zelda protagonist must activate the nearby switch by hitting it with one of his weapons. Like in the previous room,  another big ball would roll down. Then it would roll over the ramp to fall into the basket across the gap. Doing this will allow access to the sigil room.

How to get the Ren-Iz Shrine’s treasure chest?

Link shouldn’t forget about the treasure chest in the second room before he takes the Light of Blessing from the sigil room. He can use his Ultrahand on the two metal slates in that room which he used to create the ramp earlier. He now needs to connect them in a manner that becomes a huge slate that can act as a bridge to reach the chest. Link then can get the Mighty Zonaite Shield from the chest.
