Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have a fall out just a minute into Vincent Kompany’s testimonial match last night.
Vincent Kompany left the Eitihad this summer after years of service to Manchester City where he led them to multiple trophies including the recent back to back Premier League title wins. The legend was due a testimonial last night but had to pull out owing to an unfortunate hamstring injury.

Regardless, the field was brimming with stars on both sides of the field. Paul Scholes, Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie turned out for the Premier League All stars while Mario Balletoli, David Silva, Sergio Aguero and others played for the Manchester City legends.
Sky Sports Pundits, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were also present and were in fact teammates in the Premier League All stars side. The pair are known to strike each other’s nerves in the studio and it was no different on the field yesterday.

David Silva played a clever through ball to Bulgarian winger, Martin Petrov, who slotted past goal keeper Edwin van der Sar to make it 1-0 very early in the game. Carragher was not pleased with Neville’s effort who attempted and failed to play the offside trap.
Neville himself wasn’t too happy about the goal and complained that his teammate should have played deeper. Go with the man! “Carragher shot back at Neville.

The match ended 2-2 after full time. Ryan Giggs and Van Persie combined with Robbie Keane to score the equaliser. Van Persie would then go on to score the 2nd goal for the All Stars. However, Benjani’s late strike ensured the match ended with honors shared.
After the match, interviewer Geoff Shreeves asked Carragher who he blamed for the 1st goal. The former Liverpool star couldn’t resist taking another go at Neville saying:
“You’ve got to go with your runners, haven’t you?”
“He gave a goal away in the first minute, pulls his hamstring and then after he goes off – we’re fine! We were in total control when he went off!”
