Australia opened their summer with a perfect start. The Kangaroos piled the misery on the Lankan Lions with under fire David Warner leading the charge with a century of just 56 balls. He was ably supported on the other end by skipper Aaron Finch and maverick Glenn Maxwell; both of whom scored half centuries each to help Australia post a massive 233-2 in their 20 overs.

Australia then restricted the visitors to 99=9 to win the first T20I by a whopping 134 runs! The only flaw in their match was their inability to pick all 10 wickets. However, the kangaroos will not lose any sleep over it after their dominating performance.

Apart from Maxwell’s 62 off just 28 balls, the Australian player also produced another gem in the match. Maxwell is a chirpy guy who oozes of positivity. This is reflected in his batting as he backs himself to clear the ground every opportunity he gets.
Maxwell showed that he was just as confident of himself while fielding as he was head saying ‘run out’ before even picking up the ball. The fielder, who was wearing a mic, threw a rocket to Alex Carey who then inflicted the dismissal with ease.

David Warner may have picked up the man of the match but it was Glenn Maxwell who injected the match with enthusiasm and energy with his scintillating batting and electric fielding. Australia will hope to carry this form for the rest of the summer.
