Griezmann takes a step closer to a move to Barcelona

Griezmann has been nothing short of sensational ever since his 30 million euro move from Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid.

He has been on Barcelona’s radar for the last couple of years but it never happened for him. But it looks like his move to Barcelona will finally be completed at the end of this season.

Griezmann’s wife, Erika Choperena was reportedly spotted in Barcelona while she was visiting top locations for their future home. She had in fact visited the town of Castelldefels, where Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho reside.

Later she visited the neighbourhood of Pedralbes which is right in the centre of the city and both Ousmane Dembele and Neymar have lived there.

Griezmann had scored an absurd seven goals in his two previous fixtures but couldn’t find the net at the Camp Nou last week. Atletico were 5 points below Barcelona in league table before the match and a win against them would have opened La Liga title wide open.

Barcelona have already spent heavily in acquiring the services of exuberant Demble and proficient Coutinho to fill in Neymar’s shoes. Since Suarez’s declining attacking prowess and Real Madrid constantly striving for more, Griezmann’s move will be perfect for Blaugrana as he will fit perfectly in front of goal with likes of Messi.
