Hamilton clarifies ‘disrespectful’ Sirotkin comment
Lewis Hamilton and Sergey Sirotkin were involved in a massive controversy during qualifying on Saturday, one that divided the f1 fraternity as to who was in the wrong.
The Russian almost crashed into Hamilton during the initial part of Q2. Hamilton had come into the path of Sirotkin, with the Russian having to take quick evasive action in order to prevent a massive crash. Hamilton was trying to give Sirotkin the racing line, but Sirotkin hadn’t predicted that and hence was almost certain to be involved in a massive crash.
Hamilton had clarified that he had backed off in order to get some track area between himself and Bottas, and felt that Sirotkin should have done the same, ultimately labelling his move as ‘disrespectful’.

Today, Hamilton makes a very dangerous and late move as Sirotkin comes around T12 at speed. It doesn’t even warrant an investigation 🤔

The 5 time world champion was worried that his pole position could be stripped away from him due to an incident, but the FIA decided against it and Hamilton would still start in pole position today.
Hamilton though has now apologised for using the word disrespectful for Sirotkin, confirming that it was a misunderstanding between the duo and he was impressed with how Sirotkin handled the entire thing.

Do you think Hamilton deserved a grid penalty for impeding a driver or maybe he should have been charged for dangerous driving?
