MS Dhoni became the fourth Indian to reach the five-figure mark in ODIs.
India may have lost the second ODI against England, but the occasion was special for India’s former captain, MS Dhoni. The Indian wicketkeeper completed his 10,000 runs in one-day international cricket yesterday.

As he ran for his 33rd run of the innings, MS Dhoni became the only fourth Indian batsman, after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly to reach the five-figure mark in ODI cricket. He is also the only batsman among the elite club around the world to maintain an average of over 50.
The celebrations were subdued due to India’s loss, but many people took to social media to acknowledge MS Dhoni’s feat.
One of them was Harbhajan Singh, who has played with Dhoni ever since his debut and also plays alongside him for the IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings.
Harbhajan’s tweet:
Harbhajan congratulated MS Dhoni on reaching 10,000 runs, while stating that it’s no mean feat by any measure. He insisted that batting at 5/6 position is the ‘most difficult, where he mastered how to score runs and win games.’
Here is the tweet.

Meanwhile, the three-match ODI series between India and England is now level at 1-1. The deciding game will be played at Headingley on July 17. Earlier, India kick-started their tour to the United Kingdon with a 2-0 T20I series win against Ireland. India continued their winning run as they beat England in a closely fought T20I series 2-1.
