Harry Maguire gets dribbled past in only his second game for Manchester United. He was outsmarted by Raul Jimenez in their match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United are currently taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League. United are hunting for a win that will take them to the top of the table. The match is currently well poised at 1-1 with both teams looking good for a win. One United star however, is currently at the receiving end of online ridicule following the ongoing match.

Manchester United broke the bank to acquire Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer. Comparisons were soon made with Virgil Van Dijk, the man he broke the record of. However, while Virgil Van Dijk holds the record for the most matches without being dribbled past, Maguire has already been beaten in just his second game for the Red Devils.

The defender was beaten and dribbled past by Wolverhampton’s Raul Jimenez as he went past him with a beautiful display of silk like movement on the ball. Twitter didn’t take long to ridicule and mock Harry Maguire while comparing him with Liverpool’s centre back.

Virgil Van Dijk maintained his record of not being dribbled past for an impressive 65 games, until Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus did the unthinkable during their Community Shield encounter. However, according to TalkSport, the record still stands because of the FA’s declassification of the English Curtain Raiser. Which means that, due to the Community Shield’s status as a second-grade game, none of the stats pertaining to the match will hold ground.

In conclusion, Virgil Van Dijk is yet to be dribbled past since his acquisition by Liverpool last year. Maguire on the other hand, has been beaten in only his second match. So much for the comparison. The season is long though and Maguire will have many more matches to prove himself.
