Here is all you need to know about Epic Games' MetaHuman Creator (Release date, features and more)

Epic Games just released a trailer of their latest invention, the MetaHuman Creator. It is a browser-based app that will allow game developers to create character models for their games.

The MetaHuman Creator allows for the creation of highly detailed 3D character models quicker than the conventional way of making them.

The browser-app makes use of Epic Games’ tried and tested game engine, the Unreal Engine. The Unreal Engine is responsible for the making of games such as Fortnite, Street Fighter V, and so on.

The Unreal Engine got its name after Epic used it in the first-person shooter game Unreal in 1998. Clearly, the Engine has a lot more to give, because, from the looks of it, the MetaHuman Creator seems to be the real deal.

What tools does the MetaHuman Creator make use of while making characters?

Other than the Unreal Engine on which it runs, the MetaHuman Creator also makes use of Apple’s ARKit. The models that are made are compatible with a host of other programs as well. The goal of the program as told by the CEO is to aim for photo-real, but not strictly photo-real animations. This will allow the animations to look far more realistic to the human eye.

This doesn’t mean that the resolution of the model isn’t less than 4K. But, the overall details of the animations aren’t meant to look like the animation is in the real world. Hence, semi-real is the name of the game in this case.

The MetaHuman Creator can also switch over the character motions to another character model without any time lag. This also means that content creators can use the platform for making their ideas take form. The possibilities are endless with the new program.
