Herschelle Gibbs names Virat Kohlis as his all time favourite Indian cricketer

Herschelle Gibbs names Virat Kohli as his all-time favourite cricket of all time after a fan poses this question to him on social media.

Virat Kohli is among the best players to ever grace the game between the 22 yards and has several accolades to his name, which has made several legends of the game to fell in love with his skills.

Among all of them, Herschelle Gibbs is the new inclusion, as the former South African International has admitted on social media that India’s current captain is his favourite Indian cricketer of all time.

Gibbs was asked by a random fan on Twitter, “@hershybru Sir, Who is your favourite Indian cricket player of all time and the current time.” To which, Gibbs replied “Kohli”.

The former South African International has played against India’s best talents including Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. Moreover, he has also played with Rohit Sharma in IPL, who is near to Kohli’s stats in T20Is and is hailed for his explosive batting.

Yet, Gibbs opted for Kohli which signifies the rise of Kohli in the last 10 years. Meanwhile, Kohli himself is a fan of Gibbs, a fact which he admitted when he was leading India to the U19 World Cup triumph.

Back then, when Kohli was coming onto batting for India, a short preview of his was played on TV, where Kohli told his game-play and along with he said that Gibbs is his favourite player.

Thus, there is a mutual admiration between the two players, and Kohli has rightfully earned the respect of his role model. The Indian skipper is the only batsman in the world to have a 50-plus average in all the three formats of the game.
