Bruno Fernandes: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer calls Portuguese International a team player

The fullback has been exceptional this season

Crashing out of the FA Cup after being schooled 3-1 by Leicester City, Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer is really struggling to justify his role as Manchester United’s manager. Yet to win a trophy at the club, many have pointed fingers at his inability to take the club further.

Caught unperturbed and relaxed after losing his most recent outing, Ole only managed to further irk his side’s supporters. In the midst of this angst and fury against him, the manager has managed to garner much needed support with defender Luke Shaw backing him.

Left on the periphery of Manchester United’s squad when Jose Mourinho was at the helm, Shaw looked to have run his race at the club. He was publicly slandered and berated by Mourinho who no manifold occasions questioned Shaw’s ability as a footballer.

However, the fullback had completely transformed him career with him turning into an integral part of his side’s framework this term. Not only has he been crucial for the club at the back but he’s also emerged as a menace upfront to net at crucial junctures for the side.

Shaw recently spoke about his renaissance and alluded the credit to his resurgence to his manager, Ole.

“His man-management is second to none,” Shaw said when talking about Ole.

“The way he conducts himself in terms of how he speaks to the players, it gets the best out of them. You can see that. He deals with situations perfectly in terms of what is needed, especially at a big club like Manchester United.

“He takes the pressure off the lads and takes it all himself. Sometimes it is not fair because we are the ones on the pitch and we need to take our fair share too.

“For me, especially, from what I had before Ole came in, it is a total difference. It has pushed me to a new level.”
