Kimi Raikkonen’s exit from F1 is almost sealed now, as Leclerc is slated to be announced as Vettel’s partner for 2019.

While Kimi and Vettel have shared a wonderful relationship in their time together at Ferrari, Leclerc’s emergence with Sauber this season has tilted things in his favour.

Leclerc has been impressive this season, so much so that the ex-Ferrari CEO wanted him on board next year and even struck a deal with him and Sauber.

However, after Marchionne’s demise, all contract negotiations were put on hold and both Leclerc and Raikkonen were left hanging in the air.

But the Monza weekend saw the story take an unexpected turn, especially with respect to the fans who didn’t quite know the inside story on the whole Marchionne-Leclerc agreement.

Kimi was made aware of it right before the Monza weekend and the news broke out during the weekend, sending shock waves across the entire F1 community.

The Finn however has been mum about his future, confirming that the ball is in Ferrari’s court.

Multiple reports in Italy have stated that the announcement is due to come out today, as the Ferrari top management is meeting in Maranello to discuss about the 2019 driver lineup. While the new management wants Kimi to stay for another year, there is nothing much they can do because of the initial deal made with Leclerc.

While the f1 fraternity waits for the official announcement, Kimi is chilling in the woods, enjoying his time before the next grand prix(and the announcement).

Kimi posted this on his Instagram story today.

Kimi and his fans would be devastated by the news but in Leclerc Ferrari seem to have found the next big thing in the sport.
