The 14 time national champion, Jwala Gutta, has now been appointed as a member of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) governing body. (Huge news for all Jwala Gutta fans ) Having been India’s most successful doubles specialist over the years, Jwala has now vowed to help in development of young talent across the country.
“I am really excited to be appointed as a member of SAI governing body. I got a call a couple of days back when they informed me about it. I have always wanted to do something for sports. It is for the betterment and development of sports and I am really looking forward to it”.
She wrote a letter to the SAI Secretary SS Chhabra and said that she would be happy to serve the country in any way possible. (Huge news for all Jwala Gutta fans )
“It is my pleasure to inform you that you have been appointed as the member of Governing Body of SAI.
I am sure you would be able to spare your valuable time to attend Governing Body meetings as and when scheduled by the chairman.”
“The first meeting will be held on March 28th in Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi and I am really looking forward to it. (Huge news for all Jwala Gutta fans ) I don’t yet know the details of my responsibilities but I will do my best.”
This is a positive step as it is important to get the our top athletes involved in the development of the next generation of athletes coming out of our country and people like Jwala will be able to contribute immensely in this aspect.
