Hulkenberg slams Grosjean for ruckus created at the start of Spanish GP
Romain Grosjean had the worst possible outing on a racetrack today, as he not only ended his race during the first lap but also took a couple of drivers with him.
Grosjean spun off the track on Turn 3 and for some reason kept his foot on the throttle, which caused a spinning effect, resulting in a smokescreen and ultimately ending the race of Hulkenberg and Gasly too.
Hulkenberg did not mince any words after the crash and wanted Grosjean to do his homework and not ‘spin a lot’ on the track, especially during the first lap when there are so many cars around him.
“Obviously we saw that Romain spun and he came back into the track. I couldn’t go anywhere, couldn’t avoid him unfortunately and he took the back end of my car off and that’s the end of my afternoon.
“He doesn’t look great in that particular scenario. But generally he likes spinning a lot during the weekend but lap one is not a good timing to do it with all the cars around. I think he’s got to look at it and got some homework do for himself.” he said.
It was a pretty sad end to the race for the trio and Grosjean has to take a lot of the blame as he shouldn’t have tried getting back on track, when there actually wasn’t any chance.
It was a good weekend for Mercedes though, as Hamilton and Bottas both made it to the podium, with Ferrari messing up their strategy big time.
