The midfielder is said to be a potential transfer target for Liverpool
With Georginio Wijnaldum looking set to exit Liverpool come the summer of 2021, the club is now truning its attention towards possible replacements. And one name who has been persistently brought up in conversations is Florian Neuhaus.
The 23 year old has endured a largely successful sortie with Borussia Monchengladbach this season in the Bundesliga. Its seen Liverpool sit up and take attention of the midfielder’s sprawling expertise with the club said to make an offer for him come the end of the season.
Neuhaus Talks About His Future
The club was offered a massive shot in the arm in their pursuit of the player as well. Speaking about his future, Neuhaus admitted that he envisaged colossal things for himself as he refused to nail down his future to his current employers.
Speaking to Kicker, Neuhaus said: “I have a contract until 2024 and I have very big goals for this season. That’s what I’m concentrating on now. Transfer talk is really not a big issue for me now.
“I play at Borussia, I have a contract, and we as a club are still pursuing very big goals this season. I can’t say what will happen in the summer at the moment.
“I’m also very relaxed about the future. Borussia is a club where I was able to develop excellently and where everything is there. I know what I have with Borussia.”
Neuhaus is said to have a 36 million pound release clause in his ongoing contract. And his comments are bound to have spurred Liverpool towards moving towards activating the clause come the impending summer.
Liverpool who are usually otherwise largely frugal in the transfer market are bound to open the purse of their strings this time around. The club has hit a new low under Klopp with the team’s 2-0 trouncing at the hands of Everton at the weekend leaving the club with four wins on the spin at Anfield.
