ICC’s wonderful message for Kohli and Dhoni after the CSK-RCB fixture
The biggest fixture in the IPL ended on a pretty drab note as the match didn’t quite live up to the expectations.
RCB just didn’t arrive on the field last night, as all of RCB’s top order played silly shots to dig a hole for themselves and their team.
The chase seemed straightforward for CSK, despite that late surge from Tim Southee, especially after the platform that had been laid by Rayudu and Raina.
However, a middle overs slump meant that MS Dhoni was forced to take the game deep, and then unleash when he felt the time was right. And that was during his pupil, Yuzvendra Chahal’s over, who until then had bowled a pretty impressive spell.
Dhoni ate into those wide, slow leg spinners from Chahal, sending them deep into the crowd and taking CSK over the line yet again.
Virat Kohli was a disappointed captain after the loss but was happy to see MS Dhoni strike it big, as it was good for Indian cricket in the long run.
ICC came up with a tweet quoting Kohli’s comments on Dhoni, emphasising how Dhoni’s IPL performances will ultimately benefit the Indian limited overs side in the long run.
‘”It’s only a great sign for Indian cricket” – Virat Kohli is thrilled with MS Dhoni’s form despite ending on the losing side in their IPL clash.’ ICC tweeted
