India goal against Syria : Watch Indian defender Narendra Gahlot score against Syria in the 2019 Intercontinental Cup edition.

India are on the way to make an upset in the Hero Intercontinental Cup, as the Indian defender score against the mighty Syrians in the last round robin match of India.

The Blue tigers already lost to the other teams in the competition- Tajikistan and DPR Korea, and lies at the bottom of the table in the tournament.

It was expected that the Indians will face another humiliating defeat in this match, as Syria is a far better team on paper, when compared to India.

However, to everyone’s surprise, India came strong in the match, and thwarted away every attempts made by the Syrians in the initial minutes of the game.

The game remained in a deadlock till the first half of the game, as both the sides kept on to tussle until the whistle blew. Later, the match resumed, and India entered into the pitch with vitality.

The hosts showboated several skills to threaten Syria, and made several attempts to score. India finally succeeded after the 18-year-old defender, Narendra Gahlot fired the ball inside the net through a header.

India won a corner in the 52nd of the game, and Udanta Singh went to the spot to deliver a pin-point ball directly to Gahlot’s head, which enabled the young defender to give a crucial lead to India.

Presently, if the score remains same, Syria will be eliminated from the tournament by ending up at the third spot. Whereass, India are already knocked out of the tournament, but will go out with dignity, if they win.
