India squad for West Indies tour 2019: Predicted 15-member T20I squad for West Indies vs India series

India squad for West Indies tour 2019: The Sportsrush present before you India’s probable ODI squad for the imminent tour of West Indies.

The Indian selectors will meet tomorrow to announce the teams of all the formats for the upcoming tour of West Indies. The meeting will be crucial from the T20I team’s point of view because a couple of T20I World Cups are slated to happen in the next two and a half years.

The last time India played a T20I series was against Australia at home in February. Having lost the series 0-2, India summed up a middling year for them in the shortest format of the game. There’s a reason why India are currently at No. 5 in the MRF Tyres T20I rankings.

If opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is declared fit tomorrow, expect him and vice-captain Rohit Sharma to open the innings. While India captain Virat Kohli will be seen leading the side, former captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni might miss the tour.

Among Dhoni’s replacements, batsman who stand a chance as replacements are Manish Pandey, Nitish Rana and Vijay Shankar.

If a recent report is to be believed, Dhoni will serve the army for the next two months. In case that happens, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will take the wicket-keeping duties from the senior cricketer.

All-rounder Krunal Pandya should retain his place in the T20I team. The same also means that another all-rounder of similar nature in Ravindra Jadeja will continue to miss out from the T20I team. Among the spinners, chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav might be seen replacing Mayank Markande, who had made his debut against Australia.

Barring any surprising change, expect this to be another tour where India sends almost identical teams for both ODI and T20I series.

Predicted 15-member T20I squad

Shikhar Dhawan / Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma, Lokesh Rahul, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey / Nitish Rana, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar.
