Indian shuttlers secure four sports in each men’s and women’s for the World Championships
Indian shuttlers have been putting India on the global Badminton map by dishing out exquisite performances in world events. They have been working hard to end Chinese domination in the sport but there is still a long way to go, as only superior performances in World Championships and Olympics would mean passing of the baton.
The high-flying Indians have secured 4 berths in both men’s and women’s for next month’s World Championships.

Apart from PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, Rituparna Das and Tanvi Lad have qualified for the World Championships, making India only the third nation(China and Japan are the other two) to have four female representatives.
In the men’s event, Sai Praneeth, Kidambi Srikanth, Sameer Verma and Ajay Jayaram will be representing India.
Only China, Denmark and Hong Kong(apart from India) have 4 representatives in the men’s event.
China have managed to secure four spots in all five categories and will be hoping to stamp their authority as a nation on the World Championships.
PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal will be taking on the mantle of excelling in the women’s event as Rituparna and Tanvi don’t have much experience at the international level.
In the men’s event, Kidambi Srikanth could go deep into the event, carrying on from his superior form this world season.
But with the way things have panned out in the men’s section, any of the 4 could go deep into the tournament and maybe even win the entire thing. Also, a all India finals can’t be ruled out.
The BWF World Championships will be held in Glasgow from August 21 to 27.
