India announces 12-member squad for 2nd ODI

India announces 12-member squad for 2nd ODI: Sportsrush presents before you India’s Predicted Playing XI for the second ODI.

A custom which was started ahead of the Test series against Windies is being followed in the ODI series. On a day before the second ODI, India have announced their 12-member squad for the second ODI to be played at Visakhapatnam tomorrow.

Apparently, India have announced the same 12-member squad which was announced ahead of the first ODI. Having won it comprehensively by 8 wickets at Guwahati, India would be looking to ride on the momentum tomorrow.

Having chased a 323-run target in the 43rd over, you don’t expect India to change their batting order for the second match. In Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, India arguably have the best top-order in ODI cricket currently.

Having said that, India’s middle-order still remains untested. Although he has received the backing of captain Kohli to bat at No. 4, Ambati Rayudu would be looking to play some significant innings in a bid to cement his spot on the sheer basis on performance.

Former captain and wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been in the middle of a lean patch in ODIs of late, would also be eager to be back among the runs for India will be needing runs from him during the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

The middle-order also comprises of Rishabh Pant, who made his ODI debut in the first ODI. Ahead of the World Cup, the team management would also be wanting to see Pant’s performance at No. 6 for the Indian ODI side.

The only change which India would be considering will be in the bowling division. India had played three fast bowlers and two spinners at Guwahati. When the Windies’ batsmen were belting the Indian bowlers, there were calls of Kuldeep Yadav being played.

With him in the 12-member squad, one can anticipate him to play ahead of a fast bowler or even a fellow spinner.
