Onto the uncapped wicketkeepers now!

Harshal Patel the former RCB player is up next and he is sold to DD for Rs 20 lakh

17:07-

The highly rated Vijay Shankar is up next.

He is sold to DD for Rs 3.2 crore. A little pricey, don’t you think?

17: 04-

Deepak Hooda is next up.

KXIP and RR start the bidding. DD enter the bid at Rs 1.6 crore and take it to Rs 2 crore. They bow out at Rs 3.6 crore and DD get their man, but SRH use the RTM card.

Deepak Hooda to SRH for Rs 3.6 crore.

17:00-

We are underway with the uncapped all-rounders.

Rahul Tewatia to DD for Rs 3 crore.

16: 33-

The India U-19 Captain is here!

A lot has spoke about him and he could be getting at least half a million dollars.

DD and MI start the bid.

DD take the bid to Rs 1.2 crore and MI bow out.

Prithvi Shaw goes to DD for Rs 1.2 crore

16: 31-

Siddhesh Lad is UNSOLD!

16:27:

Manan Vohra is up next. He was retained by KXIP a few seasons back much to the surprise of everyone.

RCB and DD start the bidding. RCB finally make a Rs 1.1 crore bid and they have him.

Manan Vohra to RCB for Rs 1.1 crore

16:21-

Rahul Tripathi is up next. He was a revelation last season for RPS at the top of the order, getting them off to the perfect starts on multiple occasions.

Very strong tussle between KXIP, RR, DD and RCB. DD and RR bow out after Rs 1.4 crore. RR and RCB hang in and ultimately RR get their man for Rs 3.4 crore.

Rahul Tripathi to RR for Rs 3.4 crore.

16:20-

Ricky Bhui goes to SRH for his base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Ricky Bhui had an exceptional Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring at a strike rate of 145+ and an average of 75 odd.

16:19-

Ishan Jaggi goes to KKR for his base price of Rs 20 lakh

16: 13-

Shubman Gill, India’s U-19 Batsman is up next.

Big day for Shubman Gill. Gill is the fastest batsman to score 1000 runs in youth ODI’s

KKR buy him for Rs 1.8 crore!

16: 10-

Suryakumar Yadav is up next now! KKR’s ex-vice captain!

DD, KKR and MI in the mix for him.

KKR look like they want to secure his service again, but bow out at Rs 2.8 crore. MI get the deal. Suryakumar Yadav to MI for Rs 3.2 crore

16: 05-

Uncapped batsmen are up next!

15: 59-

Kuldeep Yadav, India’s chinaman is up next. RCB come in, offering Rs 5.8 crore to Kuldeep. But KKR have the RTM card, however they don’t look very sure.

So much deliberation, so much. Surely they can’t let him go! And better sense prevails, KKR use the RTM card!

15: 57-

Adam Zampa UNSOLD. Hasn’t had a great time in limited overs cricket in the last 18 months

15: 53-

Samuel Badreee goes UNSOLD!

15: 46-

Yuzvendra Chahal is up next. India’s best limited overs spinner as of now, surely a million dollar bid?

RR and KXIP start the bidding. DD and MI come in too. The bid is now at Rs 5.4 crore. DD get him for Rs 6 crore(just 6?). But the RCB management cheekily lift that RTM card!

Yuzi Chahal to RCB for Rs 6 crore. STEAL!

15:35-

Rashid Khan is up next. An entire nation watches with bated breath.

And on expected lines, everyone jump in. KXIP open the bid, RR come in, DD come in too. Bid goes up to 7.2 crore and RCB swoop in too.

KXIP finally get their man for Rs 9 crore, but the RTM card is still with SRH and they use it, of course.

Rashid Khan is a million-dollar man. Rejoice Afghanistan and Rashid Khan

15:33-

Karn Sharma, the leg spinner who was supposed to be the next big thing in Indian cricket is up now.

Fancy a RCB bid?

No, not even interested. CSK and RR get involved in heated bidding, with CSK ultimately buying him for Rs 5 crore.

15: 32-

Ish Sodhi is UNSOLD!

15:25-

Imran Tahir is up next, he was unsold in the auction last time but bought by RPS later.

And he goes for his base price of Rs1 crore to CSK. CSK want those spinners, don’t they.

Tahir reunites with Dhoni, this will be interesting

15:23

Piyush Chawla is the first spinner. Remember the ‘Chalo Chalo PC’ from Dhoni throughout the 2011 World Cup?

CSK start with a bid, keeping the Chepauk surface in mind, but KKR ultimately use the RTM card, after much deliberation to get PC back to the Eden Gardens.

We are done with fast bowlers. Spinners to follow.

15: 19-

LASITH MALINGA UNSOLD!

Franchises investing in the future(except probably Chennai)

15:18-

Kagiso Rabada, the 2nd ranked Test bowler, attracts a lot of attention. CSK and RR go head-on for his services but DD ultimately use that RTM card at Rs 4.2 crore. That is why they did not opt for Cummins. Smart from DD.

15:15-

Mitch McCleneghan, Mumbai sweetheart goes UNSOLD!

15:10:

Mohammed Shami is up next next. RCB open the bidding but SRH soon come into the mix. But wait o wait, DD use the RTM at Rs 3 crore.

Shami to DD!

15:08-

Ishant Sharma goes UNSOLD too!

15:05-

Tim Southee is UNSOLD! MI will probably go for him tomorrow, probably.

15:03-

Umesh Yadav up next. He is resting in South Africa as of now, but is heating things up in the auction room in Bangalore.

Bids fly in and RCB finally get him for Rs 4.2 crore. KKR deliberate hard over using the RTM but ultimately decide against it.

15:01-

Pat Cummins up next. No bids again?

No, no. He gets a bid and ultimately MI gobble him up for Rs 5.4 crore. DD refuse to use the RTM for him.

14:59-

Mitchell Johnson and Josh Hazlewood go UNSOLD!

Too high a base price(Rs 2 crore)

14:55-

‘The Fizz’ is the first bowler out of the hat, and he goes to MI for just Rs 2.2 crore.

For someone who set the IPL and the international stage on fire a couple of seasons ago, this is a very, very shrewd buy from MI

14:53-

We are done with the wickekeepers, capped bowlers to follow now.

14:50-

Jos Buttler up now. Surely MI would go for him

But they don’t. Jos Buttler goes to RR for Rs 4.4 crore. RR now have a top 5 of Buttler, Rahane, Smith, Samson and Stokes. Interesting.

14:49-

Sam Billings goes UNSOLD!

14:47-

Ambati Rayudu, the quintessential IPL player is up next and he goes to MI by Rs 2.2 crore.

Hesitant bidding at the start, but I guess his IPL experience worked in his favour

14:43-

Sanju Samson is in next and he goes for a whopping Rs 8 crore to Rajasthan Royals!

Royals sticking to their strategy of going in with fringe players. But isn’t 8 crore too much?

14:36-

Robin Uthappa, the 2007 World T20 Winner is up next. And he goes to KKR for Rs 6.4 crore(RTM card).

Some very heated bidding in there, but the KKR think tank was ecstatic to have gotten their man back for just Rs 6.4 crore. Waning powers?

14:35-

Naman Ojha goes UNSOLD!

14: 27-

Dinesh Karthik enters the auction room now(not literally).

And he goes big, with KKR buying him for Rs 7.4 crore. Good buy, as KKR hadn’t bought any Indian players until now.

DK will keep wickets and play in the top order. Good buy!

14:24-

Jonny Bairstow is next up and he goes UNSOLD!

He hasn’t ever played in the IPL and thus teams were a little circumspect here. And rightly so. He might still be bid for when the unsold names come up once again tomorrow!

14:19-

Wriddhiman Saha, India’s first choice Test keeper goes to SRH for a whopping Rs 5 crore(more than Ajinkya Rahane, just to give you some perspective).

They won’t be able to use him in the top order with Dhawan, Warner, Williamson and Manish Pandey in there, Saha won’t play up top and hence 5 crore is a little too much for him

14: 15-

QDK, the baby faced assassin, goes to RCB for a mere Rs 2.8 crore.

Amongst keepers, QDK had the highest runs in 2017. How did the others let him go? A quality wicketkeeper and an explosive opening batsman.

Well played RCB

14:10-

Parthiv Patel, who is currently plying his trade in South Africa, has gone UNSOLD!

Have we seen the last of him?

14:07-

Post lunch session is underway now!

13: 21-

Round up of the all rounder round:

Chris Woakes sold to RCB for Rs 7.4 crore

Carlos Brathwaite sold to SRH for Rs 2 crore

Shane Watson sold to CSK for Rs 4 crore

Kedar Jadhav sold to CSK for Rs 7.8 crore

Colin de Grandhomme sold to RCB for 2.2 crore

James Faulkner goes unsold

Yusuf Pathan sold to SRH for 1.9 crore

Colin Munro sold to DD for 1.9 crore

Stuart Binny sold to RR for 50 lakhs

Marcus Stoinis sold to KXIP for 6.2 crore

Moeen Ali sold to RCB for 1.7 crore

13:17-

Moeen Ali is next. And he gets Rs 1.7 crore from RCB. RCB now have two English all-rounders. And that’s lunch.

13:09-

Marcus Stoinis had set the BBL on fire, with his six-hitting ability and KXIP use the RTM card to buy him for Rs 6.2 crore.

13: 06-

Stuart Binny enters the arena and he is gobbled up by RR for 50 lakh.

50 lakh for charity or a shrewd buy?

13:01-

Colin Munro, one of the most prolific openers in world cricket right now. And he goes to DD for 1.9 crore. What were the other franchises doing? Factoring his susceptibility to spin?

Munro is the only player in T20I history to score 3 centuries!

13:00-

Yusuf Pathan, who was involved in that recent doping scandal goes to SRH for Rs 1.9 crore.

SRH are robbing KKR of their Indian contingent(also bought Manish Pandey)

12:57-

James Faulkner goes UNSOLD!

An all-rounder whose powers are on the decline. Not one bit surprising that he did not get a bid!

12:52-

Colin de Grandhomme, a utility all-rounder who can tonk it big, goes to RCB for Rs 2.2 crore!

He surely can deposit a lot of them into the Chinnaswamy stands. He has a strike rate of 165+ in T20 cricket

12: 50-

Kedar Jadhav, the Indian international is up next, someone who can play as a batsman, bowler and a wicketkeeper.

CSK have got their man for Rs 7.8 crore. Surely not going to be a keeper there.

Great buy though, strikes at 143.55 in the IPL

12:45-

Shane Watson is the next all-rounder and he is bought by CSK for Rs 4 crore. CSK have one opener sorted and he could use the Chepauk surface to his advantage with his cutters

12:42-

Carlos Braithwaite, the T20 World Cup hero is bought by SRH for Rs 2 crore!

Remember, DD used to drop him a lot in the last season. Good enough buy?

12:36-

Chris Woakes goes to RCB for Rs 7.4 crore. A smart buy as he was the join-highest wicket taker for KKR last season and is a decent enough lower order batsman

RCB now also have a good enough death bowler, something they have always needed

12: 32-

Martin Guptill is next up and he is UNSOLD!

Openers have lost their edge in the IPL auction. Baffling!

12:31-

Pandey now becomes the joint highest bid for Indian player in the auction. He has a strike rate of just 119 now though.

12: 25-

Manish Pandey, a brilliant Indian batting option, goes to SRH for Rs 11 crore. KKR did have an option to use the RTM card, but the price was a bit too high for them

What are KKR doing though? No Indian players bought as of now!

12:21:

Hashim Amla goes unsold and suddenly the interest in openers has faded way!

12:12-

Chris Lynnsanity is bought by KKR for Rs 9.6 crore. KKR have now bought 4 foreign players and have roughly spent Rs 40 crore on them.

12:08-

Jason Roy, another opener, and this time not many bids. He goes to DD for Rs 1.5 crore!

A steal by some margin!

12:03-

All these openers are selling like hot cakes!

12:02-

Baz goes to RCB for Rs 3.6 crore. They have replaced Gayle well.

Kohli and Baz to open for RCB! We are in for some treat next season!

11:57-

Aaron Finch, the number 2 batsman on the ICC T20 ranking list goes to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 6.2 crore!

Kings XI are on fire!

11:35-

Joe Root goes UNSOLD!

A bad Ashes and now a bad auction for the England Test captain!

11:26-

Kane Williamson goes back to SRH for Rs 3 crore, and they DID NOT HAVE to use the RTM card. Great buy!

11: 25-

DJ Bravo will be doing his little thing(bowling, batting and dancing) with the CSK once more. He is bought back by CSK for Rs 6.4 crore

11:20-

Gautam Gambhir will not be a KKR player from here on. He is back to his hometown Delhi, as the Delhi Daredevils buy him Rs 2.8 crore.

Have their captaincy issues sorted now!

11:15-

Glenn Maxwell has been sold to Rs 9 crore to Delhi Daredevils!

A new innings for Maxi after being overlooked by Australia and KXIP(who had the chance to use the RTM card)

11:05-

Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladeshi all-rounder is sold to SRH at his base price of Rs 2 crore. Underrated but high value player!

11:00-

10: 55-

We are done with the first set of players, second set starts at 11:00 pm!

10: 42-

Mitchell Starc is sold to KKR for Rs 9.4 crore!

But will he be able to deliver after an exhausting Ashes?

10:36-

Steal o steal!

In all this hara-kiri, CHRIS GAYLE GOES UNSOLD!
