IPL 2019 Award Winners:The Sportsrush presents you the Orange Cap, Purple Cap, Emerging Player, MVP and other award winners in IPL 2019.

Chennai Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 1 run in what was an absolutely humdinger of a match in the final of the Indian Premier League at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, in Hydrabad.

Here are the list of all the winners :

Orange Cap

David Warner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, with 692 runs in 12 matches walks away with the Orange Cap this year. Warner literally toyed with the bowling line-up of all the teams as he scored a total of 9 half-centuries in totality .The Orange cap is awarded to the best batsman of the whole tournament, which is determined by most numbers of runs scored. Warner also received a Rs 10 lakh prize money.

Purple Cap

The Purple Cap winner this season was donned by CSK’s leg-spinner Imran Tahir, after he picked up a total of  26  wickets in 17 matches. With this, he became the most successful spinner in the history of IPL. He too received a prize money of Rs 1o lakh. It was a neck-to-neck battle for the Purple Cap, as Tahir just pipped Kagiso Rabada by 1 wicket. Taking nothing away from Tahir, he was relatively lucky as Rabada had only played 12 matches in the tournament.

The next highest wicket-taker was CSK’s Deepak Chahar with 22 wickets in 17 matches.

 Emerging Player of the Season

The Emerging Player Award is given to a player who is born after 1 April 1993, has played 5 or fewer Test matches or 20 less ODIs, have played in 25 or less IPL matches (at the start of the season) and has not previously won the Emerging Player Award.

Shubman Gill of the Kolkata Knight Riders walks away with the trophy and a prize money of Rs 10 lakh, with the award being determined via a combination of public votes on the IPL website and the choice of the television commentator.

Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Season

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award is given to the player who has garnered the maximum points (counted with fours, sixes, wickets, bowling dot balls, taking catches and completing stumpings). It is Kolkata Knight Riders sensation Andre Russell who was awarded  the MVP of the season. He received a trophy and Rs 10 Lakh prize money.

Harrier Super Striker of the Season

The batsman with the highest batting strike rate of the season (having played a minimum of 7 matches in the season and faced a minimum of 100 balls) was awarded the Harrier Super Striker of the Season trophy and a Harrier SUV car this year. It was once again Andre Russell who, apart from being the most valuable player was awarded the ‘Super striker of the season’.

VIVO Perfect catch of the Season

The VIVO Perfect Catch of the Season was won by Mumbai Indians’ Kieron Pollard, courtesy his superb catch at deep point which Suresh Raina had timed to perfection. He received a trophy along with a prize money of Rs 10 lakh plus a VIVO mobile phone.

FBB Stylish Player of the Season

The FBB stylish player of the Season was awarded to Kings XI Punjab opening batsman, KL Rahul. The awarded was presented to the player who was seen as showcasing the most flair on the field. Rahul also received a prize money of Rs 10 lakh.

Dream 11 Game Changer of the Season

The Dream 11 Game Changer of the Season was awarded to Rahul Chahar- a Mumbai Indian yet again. Chahar was adjudged as the player who changed the outcomes of the matches with his performances. He also received a prize money of Rs. 10 Lakhs.

Fair Play Award

The Fair Play Award in this season of the IPL was given to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The award was collected by SRH’s mentor VVS Laxman on behalf of his team.
