IPL 2020: KL Rahul welcomes Jofra Archer with three consecutive fours in KXIP vs RR match

KL Rahul welcomes Jofra Archer: The captain of Kings XI Punjab continued his impressive form in the Indian Premier League.

During the ninth match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah, Kings XI Punjab captain Lokesh Rahul welcomed Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer by scoring three boundaries on consecutive deliveries.

Royals including Ankit Rajpoot meant that he and Jaydev Unadkat shared the new ball for them. With Archer called upon to bowl first change in the fourth over, Rahul cashed on the advantage of getting his eye in against the English player.

Archer, who started with a slower delivery, witnessed Rahul cover driving him for a boundary through the cover region. The second delivery was a mere reflection of the first one as Archer’s quicker delivery was also cover drived by Rahul for a boundary.

A wider third delivery saw Rahul clearing the off-side once again to register his third consecutive boundary against Archer. Having said that, the next three deliveries of the over was a witness to Archer bowling a couple of dot balls before conceding a single off the last ball.

After Rajasthan captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to field, the pair of Rahul and Mayank Agarwal added good-looking 60 runs in the powerplay. Earlier, Kings XI’s fans were expecting them to include Universe Boss Chris Gayle to their Playing XI but it wasn’t to be as KXIP chose to play with their winning combination.
