IPL Man of the Match DC vs KKR: Who was awarded Man of the Match in Capitals vs Knight Riders IPL 2021 match?

Man of the Match DC vs KKR: Delhi Capitals opening batsman got his team to a flying start at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

During the 25th match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad, Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets to win their fourth match this season.

Earlier, Kolkata had scored 154/6 in 20 overs on the back of all-rounder Andre Russell scoring 45* (27) with the help of two fours and four sixes after being asked to bat first by Delhi captain Rishabh Pant.

With bowling figures of 4-0-13-2, Capitals all-rounder Lalit Yadav was the pick of their bowlers. Apart from Yadav, fellow all-rounder Axar Patel also picked a couple of wickets in his four-over spell.

Chasing a 155-run target, Capitals went off a flier as opening batsman Prithvi Shaw provided them with a second to none start. Having scored 25 runs in the first over off Shivam Mavi, there was no looking back for Shaw as he hit a match-winning 13th T20 half-century.

With the 21-year old player scoring a whirlwind 82 (41) comprising of 11 fours and three sixes in a 132-run opening partnership alongside Shikhar Dhawan (46), he had powered his team to the driver’s seat as they ended up sealing the chase in the 17th over.

“I wasn’t thinking anything to be honest. I was just waiting for the loose ball. I knew where Shivam [Mavi] will bowl to me – we’ve played [age-group] together for four-five years. Yes, I was prepared for the short ball. I thought one will come at the helmet, but he didn’t bowl,” Mavi told Star Sports during the post-match presentation ceremony.
