The Indian Super League is set to begin on October 29, with ATK taking on Kerala Blasters at the Salt Lake Stadium.
Chennaiyin FC will be looking to defend their ISL title, as they kick-start their season with a rematch of previous year’s ISL final against Bengaluru FC.
The schedule for the first half of Indian Super League was announced last month. This year’s ISL will have two international breaks (October and November), and a preparation break is given for Indian/Asian players for the AFC Asian Cup.

In the promo for the first match of the Indian Super League, former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly, who is associated with Kolkata based outfit ATK, says, “To all, this is the new season. Hopefully, it will bring us luck and we will have a good year this year. Our record at Hero ISL is phenomenal, yes it wasn’t a great year but we will surely turn it around.”
The continental tournament will take place in the UAE in January. The schedule for the second half of the ISL is yet to be announced.
