India crashed to yet another loss to New Zealand. In the process, they endured their first whitewash in One Day cricket since 1988/89. With both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah failing to get going, the side failed to put a halt to the host’s winning run.

The silver lining to an otherwise disappointing series however, has been the performance of both Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. For years, the middle order has been India’s bane. Iyer and Rahul, both of whom batted at no.4 and 5 respectively, seem to have put the worry to rest with their performances in the recently concluded series.
Shreyas Iyer accumulated 217 runs at 72.33 and KL Rahul amassed 204 runs at 102 in the series. The pair were at it again today rescuing their side after India collapsed to 62 for 3. They stitched together a 100-run partnership with Iyer scoring 62.
Rahul bettered his partner with 112 runs. However, he lost his wicket near the end as India huffed and puffed its way to 296 in their 50 overs. During his stay at the crease, the Karnataka batsman was seen having a talk with Kiwi bowler Jimmy Neesham.

A fan asked Neesham if he had sledged Rahul or if it was the other way around. Neesham clarified that there was no sledging involved and it was just banter between the two.
Just a bit of banter. Nobody crossed the line 😂 https://t.co/g5HmZodfYH
