Jasprit Bumrah: The Indian fast bowler undergoes doping test ahead of India’s opening match of the World Cup against South Africa

Touted as one of the World’s best bowlers currently in the World right now, and India’s best best in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah has gone through a mandatory doping test ahead of India’s clash against South Africa at Soutampton on June 5.

However, during the India Cricket Team’s training session on Monday, the dope control official took Jasprit Bumrah for the doping test. As per the rules, under every ICC event, each player under the Board of control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has to undergo a mandatory doping test.
The test was conducted by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA). There were a total of two sets of the test. In the first round, Bumrah was taken for the urine test and then exactly after 45 minutes, his blood sample was taken.
According to the Hindustan Times, a BCCI source also confirmed about Bumrah’s doping test. However, the source didn’t reveal whether any other player in India’s World Cup squad is scheduled to undergo the test.
Jasprit Bumrah- India’s go-to man
Bumrah has been the mainstay and India’s go-to man, across all theformat formats for the past two years. He was exceptional in the two Warm-up games for India against New Zealand and Bangladesh, before having a phenomenal IPL season for the Mumbai Indians.

Teams have been looking to play out his overs with minimum damage possible, as he has bowled at a brilliant economy rate, besides taking wickets in the limited-overs format. He has picked up 16 wickets in the last 10 completed ODIs for India, at an average economy rate of 4.11.
