Most of us felt that when Bumrah was hit on his hand in the last over of the first T20I between India and Ireland, it was just a minor injury that would take care of itself in the next couple of days.
Even Bumrah was not aware of the extent of the injury as he posted pictures the very next day enjoying the beauty of Ireland.

However the pacer did not know what was in store for him. After the results of the scan came out, it was a great setback for India as their strike bowler was ruled out of the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England.
Either of the CSK pacers – Deepak Chahar or Shardul Thakur were to be drafted in the side in his place. However, latest reports have confirmed that Chahar has been called in the squad.

Bumrah may not have had terrific first half of the IPL but he came to his own in the second half where he took a lot of wickets bowling economically.
“Bumrah was very good in the Tests in South Africa as well and team management will hope that he gets fit in time for the Test series against England. It’s a big blow for India. Hope his replacement will do a good job of it,” reported TOI.
Deepak Chahar has bowled beautifully in the ongoing tri-series against England Lions and Windies A. The CSK pacer is already in England on the India A tour and will join the team shortly.
