Jonty Rhodes on Virat Kohli

Jonty Rhodes on Virat Kohli: Former South African cricketer differentiated between Kohli and Dhoni’s captaincy.

The debate on who among Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a better leader has already begin and is a topic which is highly likely to continue for the years to come. Given the line of work of both the captains, picking one out of them is an onerous task.

While there are and will continue to be numerous facets of the game, one thing is sure that both these names will go down as one of the best that played for India. And this fact won’t change even if Kohli surpasses Dhoni in the times to come.

Jonty Rhodes, former South African cricketer and arguably the best ever fielder in cricket, recently compared the leadership of both the players. Rhodes laid emphasis on the fact that he finds both the players very different from each other.

“Virat is quite different from MS Dhoni, he was captain cool and Virat is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. He likes to lead by example from the front,” Rhodes said about both the players in an interview to Times Now on a recent visit to India.

Rhodes, one of the most fittest cricketers of his time, lauded Kohli’s fitness and the standards which he has set for the team to follow. Rhodes was confident of India giving a tough fight to Australia on their upcoming tour of Australia.

“If you are not fit, you may not get selected for India one day because Virat sets very high standards of fitness for everyone to see and as far as the England series is concerned they’ll come back.. they almost won in South Africa and with Australia coming up its going to one of the most challenging tours for India,” Rhodes was quoted.
