Messi's comparisons with Vinicius

Messi’s comparisons with Vinicius: Barcelona cruised to a 3-0 victory over Eibar at Camp Nou on Sunday night.

Barcelona maintained their good run in the La Liga and defeated Eibar 3-0 last night.

The game was also historic for Barcelona’s star forward Lionel Messi, who became the first player in the competition’s history to score 400 goals when he netted past Eibar’s Asier Riesgo in the 53rd minute of the game.

Lionel Messi is currently the top goalscorer in this season, as he scored his 17th goal in as many games for Barcelona in the league.

After the game, Jordi Alba gave the post-match interview, where he was asked to comment on the comparisons between Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. The Barcelona defender had a hilarious one-word response to the question.

Messi’s comparisons with Vinicius:

The Argentine star broke the La Liga’s goalscoring record in 2014 when he went past Telmo Zarra with his 256th goal in the competition.

He has since been the top goalscorer in the competition. Last night, he became the first player to reach the 400-goal mark in La Liga.

The Barca stat took 435 games to reach the outstanding feat.

As Barcelona took another three points to further strengthen their position at the top of the La Liga table, Jordi Alba was asked to reflect on the game.

The reporter also asked him to comment on the comparisons between Messi and Real Madrid’s youngster Vinicius Jr.

“‘In Madrid they compare Vinicius with Messi. What do you think about that?” the reporter asked.

However, Jordi Alba had a hilarious response to the question. He looked at the reporter and said, “goodnight!”

Vinicius Jr. has been impressive in a rather disappointing season for Real Madrid so far. He has quickly emerged as one of the regulars in the side’s first team.

For years, the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid was aggravated due to the comparisons between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. After Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus at the beginning of the season, Real Madrid have fairly struggled in the season.

The side lost 5-1 in the season’s first El Clasico, which led to the sacking of Zinedine Zidane’s successor, Julen Lopetegui.
