Cristiano Ronaldo is a famous name at Santiago Bernabeu and it will take some doing for the heir apparent to succeed him at Real Madrid. The Los Blancos have currently recalled their former manager Zinedine Zidane to the club. The Frenchman decided to back out of the club in May 2018 due to the lack of transfer powers, but a year later he has been guaranteed in that department.

During his stay in the capital city of Spain, Ronaldo lifted tons of individual and collective awards. The Portuguese International gained so much intimacy at Santiago Bernabeu with four Ballon d’Or and Champions League during his stint. However, his nodus with Florentino Perez meant that he would be heading the exit door of the club. The 34-year-old moved to Italian outfit Juventus for a fee of 100 million euros in the summer transfer window.

However, the fans will sing his name with such fondness and remember him in Spain. When he was asked to sign a Real Madrid jersey, Ronaldo replied by asking for Juventus jersey.

RONALDO ASKING FOR JUVENTUS JERSEY:

When he went near the fan to sign the jersey, Ronaldo jokingly asked ” No Tienes Camiseta de la Juventus?” which translates to “Don’t you have Juventus shirt?”

The fan replied “I have it, I have it.” when Ronaldo signed the Los Blancos jersey.

Fair play to Ronaldo for signing the Real Madrid jersey and boasting his popularity among Juventus fans having already gained so much infatuation at the Allianz Stadium already.

Ronaldo’s departure at Santiago Bernabeu has left a big loophole forcing the club to act decisively in the forthcoming windows. Real Madrid are on the verge of finishing without a major trophy for the first time in five years. Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has explained that the love story between Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid ended prematurely.

Balague says that Ronaldo wanted a new contract at the club despite only signing one fairly recently and club president Florentino Perez was in favour, given that he was their talisman and a marketing phenomenon. But when Perez mentioned the lowering release clause, the Portuguese International felt undervalued at the club.

Speaking on the GB transfer show, per Daily Express, Balague said: “Julen Lopetegui had no idea Cristiano was leaving.

“There was no real push from Real Madrid for him to go. Cristiano was saying to Real ‘if you want me to stay, then give me a new contract.’

“And Florentino Perez said OK – but if you wouldn’t mind, lower your buyout clause. To a more manageable buyout clause.

“How do you think Cristiano reacted to that? He was like ‘they don’t want me, they don’t want me! Go get me a team to Jorge Mendes [his agent].'”

After some time, Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he felt undervalued and underappreciated at Real Madrid.

“I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” he said. “In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’. Less afterwards. The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.”

“That’s what made me think about leaving. Sometimes I’d look at the news, where they were saying I was asking to leave. There was a bit of that but the truth is I always had the impression the president would not hold me back.”

“If it had all been about money, I’d have moved to China, where I would have earned five times as much than here [at Juventus] or at Real. I did not come to Juve for the money. I earned the same in Madrid, if not more. The difference is that, at Juve, they really wanted me. They told me that and made it clear.” said Ronaldo.
