In one of the biggest shocks of the summer, Romelu Lukaku has decided to join Manchester United just when it seemed like he was heading for Chelsea.

Football fans all around the globe were stunned by this news, as Manchester United pat themselves on the back for having completed this deal.

Lukaku was linked to Chelsea the entire summer. Diego Costa had confirmed that Conte did not want him back and was looking at a transfer out of the club.

But out of nowhere, reports started coming in that United had stolen Lukaku from Chelsea’s nose for a fee of around 75 million pounds.

It is no secret that Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku are good friends. The are currently in LA enjoying their summer vacations.

Pogba would regularly post videos of the pair of them playing basketball or training together. Just yesterday, a video resurfaced in which Lukaku told Pogba that he will see him in training tomorrow.

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes that this deal looks fishy to him.

“I have to admit I’m baffled by Romelu Lukaku’s decision to join Manchester United,’ Fowler wrote in the Daily Mirror.

“It’s a funny one, why would he want to go and play for a manager who has already twice deemed him not good enough, which is exactly what Jose Mourinho has done, whatever way he wraps it up.

During their Chelsea days, Mourinho did not deem Lukaku good enough not once but twice.

Now we learn that Jose had sent a text to Lukaku in the past week, in which he said that he was looking forward to working with the Belgian.

It is said that the message was all that Lukaku needed to switch his destination to Old Trafford.

Unsurprisingly, Conte is extremely unhappy with the way things are going. So much so that he even considered the possibility of leaving Chelsea himself this summer.

Both managers were thought to be upset with their respective clubs over their transfer dealings this summer.

This deal will certainly lift Jose’s spirits, but will strike a severe blow to Conte and Chelsea.
