Junaid Khan: The Pak Cricketer after being dropped from the World Cup squad, expressed his disappointment via a controversial Twitter post

After losing out his place from the Pakistan World Cup squad, pacer Junaid Khan expressed his disappointment via a controversial Twitter post. The post has paved way for a fresh controversy which might have serious repercussions on the left-arm pacer.

The final Pakistan World Cup squad was announced today by its the Board’s chief selector, Inzamam-Ul-Haq. Junaid Khan was included in the initial 15-member preliminary squad which was announced last month.

But, following a couple of ordinary performances in the recently concluded ODI series against England, Junaid was dropped along with fellow fast bowler, Faheem Ashraf and batsman Abad Ali. The latter two were also in the initial preliminary squad.

The trio made way for Pakistan’s senior duo Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz along with Asif Ali- who has impressed one and all with the bat.

While Inzamam made clear that Amir was always in contention for a place in the squad, Wahab’s inclusion came in as an real surprise, as he last played in Pakistan colours back in the ICC Champions Trophy, 2017 (against India).

What did Junaid post?

The tall left-arm pacer posted a picture of himself on Twitter, where he is seen with his mouth covered with a black tape.

The reason he has ‘black-taped’ his mouth is reflected in his caption to the picture above. The caption says, “I don’t want to say anything. Truth is bitter. (Sach karwa hotha hai).

Clearly, without saying anything he has sent in a clear message to the entire cricketing fraternity. But, the manner in which he has expressed his disappointment (using a black tape) will be questioned for sure.
