Jurgen Klopp sees a deep lying midfielder in the versatile Adam Lallana, as the Liverpool star played in same role in last two matches.
Jurgen Klopp believes that his versatile midfielder can perform as a Jorginho-style midfielder for Liverpool this summer, after Klopp experiments the English International in the same role, in the recent friendly matches.
According to a report by the Times, Liverpool’s manager have found another way to utilize Lallana this season, by deploying him deep in the midfield, as the German manager is impressed by his versatility.
Lallana played as a No 6 in the first-half of Sunday’s 3-1 success against Bradford City having also featured at the hub of Liverpool’s midfield in the 6-0 win over Tranmere Rovers last Thursday.
After the game against Bradford City, Klopp explained his intentions of placing Lallana with a deeper role, which he has hardly played before the last two friendlies.
“Adam is the kind of player who can play that and he enjoys this ‘Jorginho’ role – I hope Maurizio Sarri doesn’t see the games or he will make an offer,” said Klopp, after a 3-1 over Bradford City.
“It is about getting Adam rhythm, bringing him in early and doing things he is naturally good at: small spaces, passing the ball, and then from time-to-time offering the runs in behind as well and together with Milly (James Milner) that is possible. For us it is another option.
