Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a big step towards his move to Juventus.

The Italian club’s president, Andrea Agnelli is travelling to Greece to meet Cristiano Ronaldo in his hotel, according to reports from Sky. The Portuguese winger is currently holidaying in Greece after Portugal’s World Cup campaign ended in the round-of-16.

Ronaldo has been long speculated with a move to Juventus, and even rejected a €200m bid from an unnamed Chinese Super League club, to push his move for Italy. Ronaldo earlier signified the end of his Real Madrid career after the Champions League final victory against Liverpool, however he dismissed his comments later with an apology.

Real Madrid, however, wants Cristiano Ronaldo to publicly confirm his desire to leave the club. According to MARCA, Real Madrid has put forward this condition for the Portuguese winger, and the failure to comply to it would mean that the club won’t lower his release clause of €1 billion.

Various Spanish and Italian outlets have earlier reported that Juventus have made a €100m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star, however, is yet to speak on his future.

Last week, the Portuguese winger’s agent, Jorge Mendes met Real Madrid’s general manager Jose Angel Sanchez to discuss Ronaldo’s transfer.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have already started identifying potential targets to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. Neymar currently tops the priority list for Florentino Perez, while Eden Hazard is also being approached by Los Blancos. Some Spanish outlets also claim that Kylian Mbappe’s situation is also being monitored.
