Juventus are ready to bid for Marcelo in a swap deal involving their full-back Alex Sandro.
Juventus were able to sign Real Madrid’s highest scorer in their history, Cristiano Ronaldo for a fee of 100 million euros in the summer transfer window. Despite lifting the Serie A over the last six years, they are always hungry to emphasize their superiority and become utter dominant in Europe.
Since the signing of the Portuguese International in the summer transfer window, the Old Lady have been unstoppable by losing just 4 points 21 games into the season. Apart from the on-field effect, their club’s stock has risen 40% more in the last six months which is a huge statement to Europe.
The former Real Madrid forward has been speaking about the possibility of luring his former teammate Marcelo to Juventus Stadium in the near future. The Brazilian has been lately forced to warm the bench after losing his place to the academy graduate Sergio Reguilon.
Since Marcelo’s contract ends in 2022, there is no doubt that Florentino Perez would be demanding no lesser than 100 million when the transfer window opens. To budge low, Massimiliano Allegri’s side are ready to let Marcelo’s compatriot the other way.
A year on, it looks like Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo are going to be reunited. The Italian publication TuttoSport says quotes that the Old Lady are ready to bid 45 million euros for the Brazilian full-back and send Alex Sandro another way.
It is a baffling decision considering the age of these two players. However, it is understandable that the Los Blancos defender brings in tons of experience and has won plenty of trophies at Real Madrid which might come in handy at Turin.
On the other hand, Alex Sandro moved to Juventus during the summer of 2015 and has won three league titles consecutively. He has made 142 appearances and is one of the integral members of the side.
Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo wanting Marcelo at Italy, there were several reports quoting that the 30-year-old is not happy with his situation at Santiago Bernabeu and could want a new adventure.
With the age on Sandro’s side, Real Madrid will be tempted by the prospect of landing the Brazilian from Juventus should an offer be placed on the table. On the other hand, Juventus will not hide inside the closet and will be trying to lure him away to Italy in the summer transfer window.
