Neymar Transfer to Barcelona: PSG and Barca agree transfer fee for attacker

Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona have agreed a fee for Neymar.

Neymar’s transfer to Barcelona is edging closer after Paris Saint Germain and the Spanish giants agree a transfer fee. The attacker, who spent two years in Paris, will return back to the familiar Nou Camp.

According to the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, the Brazilian is poised to sign a new contract in the coming hours to culminate a gigantic switch back to Catalonia. The details of the transfer fee and swap deal are not yet known, but the attacker is on the verge of completing a Barcelona transfer.

Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic were rumoured to be involved in a swap deal, but there is no confirmation just yet. The former could join the French side on loan, while the Croat, who wanted to swap clubs last summer, could finally get his transfer.

Le Parisien stated that Thomas Tuchel took advantage of the exciting relationship with Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund, and convinced him joining the club for the upcoming season.

Apart from the transfer fees, Neymar has also agreed personal terms with the club. The former Santos forward failed to attend the pre-season training, but he made himself available for the rehabilitation process.

Since Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain were locked in the negotiations, the Parisian club manager Thomas Tuchel divulged that he hopes for the situation to get resolved soon and directed the Brazilian transfer news to the director Leonardo.

He said: “The aim is for this to be over as soon as possible,”

“Unfortunately, that wasn’t today. It’s time for him to play. Leonardo knows I want things sorted out and for him to stay, but that depends on him. The situation isn’t very clear right now and we need to sort it out.”

The 27-year-old was cut short to just 58 appearances in two seasons, owing down to ankle injuries. Neymar was part of the Barcelona squad which lifted the Champions League in 2015.

The signing of Neymar would reinforce the Blaugrana attacking line to another level. Ernesto Valverde will have Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, and Neymar to operate.
