This year’s IPL has already been marred with the absence of several top stars, with the likes of Santner, Starc, Smith and Warner to name a few.

Latest player to join this list is South African superstar Kagiso Rabada. Rabada suffered discomfort and stiff back during last day of Australia’s tour and scans later confirmed the same, and ruled Rabada out for 3 months.

Rabada started the season being second fiddle to Philander or Morkel for South Africa, but his aggression against Kohli during India’s tour helped him nick Kohli numerous times and turned a lot of heads towards him. By the time Australians came to South African shores, Rabada was the spearhead of Proteas pace attack at a mere age of 22.

The right arm fast bowler was at top of his form during the whole long home season for South Africa which took him to top of ICC ODI and Test bowling ranking by January 18’ .

South Africa played with only four bowlers for all 4 tests against Australia and honors fell on Rabada’s lap to run through the Aussies line up. This heavy workload took a toll on Rabada’s body as he was seen in pain due to stiff back on last day of Australia’s tour when he only bowled 3 overs.

This will be a massive blow for Delhi DareDevils who retained Rabada for around 5 cores and were heavily counting on his exceptional line and length along with an abundance of pace and swing.

Rabada is capable of getting early breakthroughs and limit scoring in the end overs and Delhi were relying on such ‘X’ factor to finally make a mark in IPL standings.

Delhi Daredevils’ think tank is looking towards Boult as ideal replacement of Kagiso Rabada but there is no player in entire world right now who can file Rabada’s shoes.

Rabada’s absence will not only haunt Delhi fans but all IPL fans as the league will lack his presence.
