Kimi Raikkonen hits back at Hamilton’s ‘deliberate’ crash comments
Hamilton and Mercedes’ comments after the race regarding the turn 3 crash between Lewis and Kimi have sparked off a rage in the F1 fraternity.
While people do understand the frustration of Lewis as he was forced to the back of the pile post the ‘tap’ from Kimi, it was largely insensitive and unsportsmanlike of him to label that as a ‘deliberate’ attempt on part of Kimi to snatch victory away from Hamilton.
The Mercedes team too came out with scathing comments about Ferrari’s tactics, something that did not go down well with Arrivabene and co.
Arrivabene slammed Allison for his comments, especially because he knew the Ferrari culture while he was with the team.
Raikkonen was obviously asked about the entire incident in the post race press conference. He was quick to term Hamilton’s criticism as ‘funny enough’.
“Things happen sometimes. Funnily enough you start blaming us that we did it purposefully but he locked a wheel and unfortunately we touched and both paid the price for it and that’s how it goes sometimes. It’s easy to say after the couple of races that we’re suddenly doing something against them but we’ve been hit very many times ourselves so that’s how it goes unfortunately.” he said.
“I find it a bit unnecessary to even go there”

Raikkonen also confirmed that it was right to award him the 10 second penalty, as it was his fault that led to the little crash.
“It was my mistake, so that’s fine. I deserve it and took the 10 seconds and kept fighting. That’s how it goes.” Raikkonen said.
What do you make of the entire Kimi-Lewis saga?
