Kimi Raikkonen on Rosberg retirement- I cannot understand the reasons
Kimi Raikkonen on Rosberg retirement- I cannot understand the reasons said Kimi as Rosberg is on track with the microphone at all grand prix.
Kimi Raikkonen is known for speaking his mind about anything and everything related to the sport, as he doesn’t really care for what is made out of it.
The Iceman did something similar recently when he spoke about Rosberg’s shock retirement after the 2016 season, days after famously winning the title by beating his arch rival and teammate, Lewis Hamilton.
Raikkonen admitted that he did understand Rosberg’s point of view and his decision at that point, but not any more.
“When he explained why [he is stopping] I thought it was cool and I understood” Raikkonen said during the launch of autobiography in Helsinki.
Kimi felt Rosberg wanted to be away from the sport, but he was back on track, holding the microphone and conducting interviews, which somehow did not bode well with the Finn.
“Now he’s standing there with a microphone. I cannot understand why given the reasons he gave for wanting to leave.” he added.
Raikkonen was quizzed as to how he would spend his time after he quit and if he would want to stay involved with F1 in any capacity.
“No it will not be hard to stop this job. I will be relieved when all of the things not involving driving will end. The driving is great but nothing else.
“Yes, I’m interested in doing something like developing a car, but in the background not in public. It will not be standing with a microphone,” he added.
Raikkonen’s book has been released in Finnish and will be released in English on October 18.
What do you make of Raikkonen’s comment about Rosberg’s retirement? Fair assessment or is Kimi reading a little too much into it?
