KXIP Predicted Playing XI vs KKR

KXIP Predicted Playing XI vs KKR: Sportsrush presents before you the Predicted Playing XI of KXIP for their second match of IPL 2019.

After close encounters, both Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders won their opening games against Rajasthan Royals and SunRisers Hyderabad respectively. With that being said, Ravi Ashwin will be hoping that the team can get their second away win of the tournament when they meet KKR at the Eden Gardens.

The Kings XI Punjab will be having a bit of a headache while selecting the playing XI with the return of Andrew Tye and David Miller. The star duo will have to make their way into line-up, considering both are in red hot form and are considered specialists in the shortest format of the game.

Thus, The SportsRush predicts Kings XI Punjab’s playing XI against Kolkata Knight Riders:

Chris Gayle:

After a match-winning 79 off just 47 balls, Chris Gayle won the Man of the Match against the Rajasthan Royals. He will be a key performer for KXIP against the KKR attack.

KL Rahul (wk):

KL Rahul was not behind the stumps in the last game and could not get off to a good start. However, with the possible return of David Miller, he will get to keep the wickets alongside his opening position.

Mayank Agarwal:

The right-hander struggled his way to a 24-ball 22 against the Royals. However, on his day he can be brilliant with the bat, as Punjab will be hoping he can fire against KKR.

Sarfaraz Khan:

Sarfaraz Khan batted brilliantly against Rajasthan for an unbeaten 46 off just 29. His excellent timing and shots will be ones to watch out for throughout the IPL.

David Miller:

After returning from a successful series against Sri Lanka, Miller is likely to replace Nicholas Pooran who could not get to an ideal start to his IPL career. With the experience and talent Killer Miller has, he will be the danger man against Karthik’s bowlers.

Mandeep Singh:

The right-hander has been allotted the task of finisher by the Kings XI Punjab. He did not get enough time against the Royals, but Mandeep can turn the game on its head on his day.

Ravichandran Ashwin (c):

Ashwin got into the headlines for the wrong news in a case of Mankading Joss Buttler. However, the skipper will be hoping to keep that aside and focus on the task with his brilliant bowling and handy batting.

Andrew Tye:

Despite Sam Curran turning the game with a timely wicket against Rajasthan, the return of seasoned campaigner Andrew Tye will force Curran out of the XI. Tye’s brilliance in the shortest format will make him an automatic choice for Ashwin’s team.

Mohammed Shami:

Leading the pace attack will be India's premier fast bowler, Mohammed Shami, who has impressed one and all with his brilliance over the past few years. Shami will be crucial for Kings XI to win at the Eden Gardens.

Ankit Rajpoot:

The right-arm medium pacer picked up 2-33 in the 4 overs against Rajasthan. With brilliant bowling against a strong line-up, the Punjabi fans will be keeping high expectations from the lad.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman:

The 17-year-old has emerged as one of the most talented bowlers in the T20 leagues. His variations will be handy against the likes of hard hitting batsmen Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell.
