KKR vs RR Preview

KKR vs RR Preview: The Sportsrush presents before you full preview of the 43rd match of IPL 2019 between KKR vs RR.

All is not well at the KKR camp as the motivation levels seem to be at an all time low. They face a very uphill task and have to win all their remaining 4 matches to secure a playoffs berth. Rajasthan Royals are also having a tough time at this IPL. In spite of the Rahane century, they failed to win their last match.

Can they motivate themselves to win almost everything and get to 14 points?

FORM GUIDE

The Kolkata Knight Riders are on a disastrous run at the ongoing IPL with 5 back to back losses. They have managed to surpass their worst run of 4 losses on the bounce in 2009 when KKR ended up with the wooden spoon. However, they need to win the crucial moments and hope for the Eden Gardens crowd to inspire them to win again.

Rajasthan Royals, after a change in captaincy, have lost 1 and won 1 match. However, they would like to believe that they can still win. They are in a tough spot with many of their English and Australian recruits set to leave for national commitments. They need to desperately win this one at the Eden Gardens.

EXPECTED TEAM CHANGES

KKR made as many as three changes to their line-up in the last match to change their fate. However, that was not to be. Prithvi Raj Yarra was unlucky not to have dismissed Bairstow early in his innings. He was pretty good with the ball and would keep his spot along with Rinku Singh.

However, it is expected that Kuldeep Yadav, after getting “fresh” like Karthik said, is expected to come back into the team in place of KC Cariappa who had a horror night missing catches and leaking runs at 17 an over.

Rajasthan Royals need better Indian pacers but they do not seem to have the reserves. Unadkat and Kulkarni need to make some changes in their bowling and deliver for the tea. Ashton Turner is expected to make way for Liam Livingstone after Turner was out for a first ball duck for the third time in three matches. He is having a disastrous run and is likely to be dropped.

PITCH AND WEATHER PREDICTION

The Eden Gardens track is a batting paradise as seen in previous matches wherein even 218 was almost chased down. The spinner would hardly receive any help. Pacers need to use the bounce off the pitch smartly to extract some help. Expect another high octane and high scoring match at the City of Joy tonight.

It will be an absolutely clear night at Kolkata when the clash takes place. Dew might come in to play with it being a clear sky. The temperature is expected to hover around 27°C with no rainfall expected whatsoever. 56% humidity means players will not sweat as much as you expect at Kolkata.

TOSS PREDICTION

On a pitch on which 218 was almost chased down along with the pertinent dew factor, the team winning the toss would surely look to field first and make use of the better bowling conditions.
