Klopp on Arsenal vs Liverpool

Klopp on Arsenal vs Liverpool: Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp took a dig at Arsenal after the game at the Emirates stadium.

The match between Arsenal and Liverpool ended in an entertaining 1-1 draw. James Milner and Alexandre Lacazette scored goals as points were shared among both the sides.

Lucas Torreira was sublime for Arsenal on the night, closing the spaces in the midfield. The Uruguayan midfielder was awarded the Man of the Match for his excellent performance throughout the match.

Arsenal, however, have now dropped to 5th position in the league after Spurs defeated Wolves 3-2 in the late night kick-off.

Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, talked about the game, and took a slight dig at Arsenal in the post-match interview.

Jurgen Klopp on Arsenal vs Liverpool:

The Liverpool manager reflected on the game against Arsenal, stating that it was a very competitive fixture.

“It was very intense,” said Klopp. “I thought we made life a bit too easy for them.

“A point at Arsenal will always be an absolutely good result, so we take that and move on.

It was always difficult against Arsenal (before today), it was very spectacular, today was no less spectacular just with less goals than last season. I knew before it would be difficult.”

Klopp also said that Arsenal brought all their strikers on in the second half, and joked that he was waiting for van Persie and Bergkamp.

“Arsenal did it already before this year [this move] where they brought on pretty much all of their strikers. I was actually waiting for Van Persie and Bergkamp,” Klopp said.

The Liverpool manager, however, praised Unai Emery for his work at Arsenal so far.

“I think Arsenal fans were crazy at first at not being excited with getting him. Everyone in football knows how good he is but in England, people want the poster boys.”

What next?

Arsenal will now return to Europa League where they take on Sporting Lisbon. The Gunners earlier registered a win over the Portuguese side in their stadium, which was Arsenal’s first win in UEFA competitions in the country.

The Gunners will then return to Premier League to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.
