Kohli on his dismissal in Perth: The Indian captain didn’t make a fuss about his controversial dismissal in the first innings.

India might have won three overseas Tests this year but the fact of the matter is that they have also lost seven in the same year. The recent 146-run loss in Perth being the seventh one.
While India captain Virat Kohli scored a magnificent 25th Test hundred and Mohammad Shami registered career-best bowling figures, India still have a lot of questions to answer ahead of the third Test at Melbourne from December 26.
Speaking during the post-match press conference, Kohli praised the opposition, saying that they deserved to win. “As a team I think we played well in patches which we can hold onto. Australia played much better than us with the bat. 330 on that pitch we felt was a bit too much. They deserved to win,” he was quoted as saying.
India were handed a 287-run target on a daunting wicket. Barring another Kohli masterclass, it was highly unlikely of the visitors to seal the chase. Asked about the the batsmen’s mindset before the start of the final innings, Kohli said, “We had the belief we could do it, but they were more relentless and put us in trouble.”
Other than Umesh Yadav, each of India’s fast bowlers were highly impressive throughout the match. Citing their bowling performance, Kohli lauded his bowlers’ efforts.
“Our bowlers are outstanding as a pack, to see them dominate was really good to see and something we want to build on. They are relentless even if they aren’t getting wickets which is a great quality,” he further said.
Kohli has usually said in the past regarding contributing in Indian victories. The 30-year old cricketer repeated it again after being asked about where he would rate his hundred in this test. “When you don’t win you don’t really rank your performances so it’s irrelevant because we didn’t get the result we wanted. I’m just focused on the next Test,” he added.
In the first innings of the Test, Kohli was dismissed controversially after Peter Handscomb’s catch came under scrutiny. While Kohli was seen mocking Handscomb during practice, he seemed to have moved on from his dismissal now. “It was a decision made on the field and it stays there. Nothing more to it,” he concluded.

Plenty can be learned from a loss. India not only played 4 fast bowlers, but 4 number 11 batsmen who had to bat 8-9- 10-11 . Still Australia got 100 + start and India started poorly in both innings. Hope India can turn things around in Melbourne

Played Australia. Hostile conditions at times made for compelling viewing and it’s a first Test win for Paine & Langer. Aus putting Newlands behind them and set up brilliantly at 1-1 for Boxing Day #AusvInd
