The Kolkata Knight Riders are in a desperate position and would vociferously support RCB in the match tonight. If RCB win, KKR need to defeat MI to get into the playoffs and occupy the last position available. They will reply heavily on their openers and Andre Russell as usual to come good t Mumbai which is expected to be a batting paradise again.

Chris Lynn and Shubman Gill make a fantastic opening pair. While Gill settles down in the initial few overs, Lynn can continue with his explosive batting and keep the run rate high. Gill can then play the role of an anchor and go on to play a long innings filled with masterful strokes and beautiful shots. He is surely one for the future.
Robin Uthappa might come in at No. 3 if the first wicket falls before the 10th over and play a few good shots like he did the last game. Else, Andre Russell might walk in at No. 3.
Dinesh Karthik has played a good innings and if needed, will look to play a Captain’s knock at the Wankhede. He knows this pitch well from the days he used to play for MI.
Nitish Rana has not gotten many opportunities in the last few games owing to some good batting at the top of the order. He will make the most of his chance if it comes on Sunday. Rinku Singh might or might not play depending on the management’s decision to go with 5 or 6 bowlers.
Andre Russell will be a floater again and KKR should look to give him 10 overs to play surely. Sunil Narine can also tonk the ball down the order.
The KKR bowling attack is a little weak and they need to be careful on a track like Wankhede where a small mistake can make the batsman hit the ball into the Arabian Sea. Considering the spinners have received a bit of help here this season, KKR might consider bringing back Kuldeep Yadav in place of Rinku Singh.

Sandeep Warrier was impressive in the last game as he picked up the crucial wickets of Gayle and KL Rahul and bowled the right lengths. Harry Gurney needs to being his variations into play.
Piyush Chawla has to try and be a bit economical. Giving runs at over 10 in every match isn’t acceptable. The Caribbeans, Narine and Russell, also need to pick up some wickets in the middle overs as well as at the death.
